  There must have been a management or ownership change at Astor in the past month. As a customer who has eaten there frequently over the years, I must say, the quality of the food and the competence of the staff has changed drastically.
  
  Tonight, I ordered my usual dinner, which is chicken kabob with rice, Egyptian salad, hummus, and Baba Ganoush. I first noticed a change when I went to pick up the order. The staff behind the register were in disarray and behind schedule. After finally receiving my order, I left noticing a long line of people waiting.
  
  When I got home I was disappointed by how differently the food changed in both appearance and taste. First, the rice, which used to be amazing was bland and a different color. Second, the chicken quality was not up to par. It tasted rubbery and it appeared someone took a bite out of a piece of my chicken. Gross! Third, the Egyptian salad was completely different and not the nicely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers that they used to be. Fourth, the Hummus was disgusting……over-salted, over-seasoned, and texture-wise was gritty. Fifth, the Baba Ganoush was inedible; it went straight in to the trash after one bite. Finally, the attention to detail, which was one of my favorite aspects of their chicken kabob was not present. The chicken kabobs used to come with a small portion of marinated chickpeas, caramelized onions and peppers, which I loved.
  
  Literally, the only thing that was similar to what I used to get was the bread.
  
  It is such a shame because Astor used to be my favorite take-out restaurant. This is my second bad experience in the past few weeks, which prompted me to write this review. As I sit here writing this review, my roommate chimed in saying, “yea, they really have gone downhill recently.” Enough said.

  I have been here so many times and love it. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! I have tried the gyro, kufta, pizza, and any combo of the grill platters you can think of. Hands down the kufta is my all time favorite!

  The food here is fresh and delicious. Great place to stop in and grab lunch with a friend or pick up food to take home and enjoy. Never had a bad meal here. Customer service is always great, and they're very conscientious about food allergens and will answer whatever questions you have to ensure you're able to get a meal that you can enjoy.

  Amazing food, always delicious. Love their vegetarian platter, and I've been told their chicken is great too!
  
  Their online ordering is a little tricky, but it's nice to just come in and pick up, as it can be a bit busy sometimes.
